Paul Jackson Lasley

February 22, 1950 — February 16, 2023

Paul Jackson Lasley of Waco, Texas passed away Thursday, February 16, 2023, at the age of 72. He was called home peacefully at the Providence Hospice Place, surrounded by his beloved family. Visitation will be at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home Thursday, February 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. A graveside service will be held at Oakwood Cemetery Friday, February 24, at 2 p.m., with John DeGiorgio officiating.

Paul was born in Waco on February 22, 1950, to father Norman Kyrkendall Lasley and mother Rosel Bowen Lasley. He was a one-of-kind husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Since his boyhood he showcased his knack for getting into mischief, from breaking a cello as a young boy to running off to Fort Worth with all his mates to share in pranks and playfulness. He would grow to be a kind and honest man, with a talent for auto parts, an intense passion for books, and an eye for stamps of all origins. In 1966, he decided to run off and elope with the love of his life, Linda Sparks, on the border of Mexico. His mother would not approve and would demand their separation four months later, a separation that would last only a while as they were remarried in 1973. He would go on to live a calm and fulfilling life.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents; and by his brother, David Norman Lasley.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Lasley (Sparks); children, Jeremy Robb and wife, Chrissy, Amy Whitten and husband, Christopher, and Jonathan Lasley, and wife, Amber; and grandchildren, Stormie, Raine, Dayton, Alexis, Skye, Canyon, Evelyn, Olivia, and Vincent.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Robb, Jonathan Lasley, Christopher Whitten, and Dayton Fancher.

Those who wish to express remembrance may send greenery in lieu of flowers. The family also requests everyone to consider making a donation to the Community Healthcare of Texas/Providence Hospice Place (6700 Sanger Ave, Waco, TX 76710), in Paul J.
