Paula Leigh Dewald Cawthon December 3, 1967 February 25, 2008 Paula Cawthon passed away on February 25, 2008 in Prairie Estates Nursing Facility in Frisco, Texas, following a long battle to overcome medical complications encountered on July 4, 2007. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, February 28, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with burial to follow at McGregor Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 27 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. Paula spent most of her life in Waco. Paula's priority was always her children; she was a mother first before all else. She enjoyed cooking and will be remembered for her gardening, her shelled pecans and her Christmas divinity candy. She never forgot a special occasion. Her birthday parties and home made cake will truly be missed. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Joann Womble Gant. She was a dedicated Mother and is survived by her children, Matthew, Michael, Brandon and Karen Cawthon and their father, Nathan Cawthon; her unofficial adopted step children, Jessica and Chris Pate, and their father and her long time companion, Rick Pate. She is also survived by her father, Fred Dewald and his wife, Suzanne; sisters, Joanna Dewald, Kathryn Dunn and Koby Shell; her grandfather, Freddie A. Dewald and his wife, Becky; her favorite aunt, Gretchen Altum; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and her long time friend, Ronni Long of Fairfax, Virginia. Pallbearers are Gordon Swanson, Mike Spitzer, Gary Dunn, Kent Garbett, Mark Livengood, Oscar Diaz. Honorary pallbearers are Larry Dunn, Bruce Harrell, Richard Clark, Mitchell Jantz, Gene Aars and Dr. Phillip Cochran.
