OLVERA, PAULA Paula Olvera, 69, of Waco, died Friday, March 14, 2003, at a Temple hospital. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 18 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Lawrence Soler officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Monday, March 17 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Paula was born on July 23, 1933 to Guadalupe G. and Guadalupe M. Fonseca in Agua Nueva Coahuila, Mexico, where she completed primary school. On May 19, 1952 she married her life-long friend, Edmundo Olvera. They moved to Texas in 1965. Paula became a U.S. citizen in 1998. Devoted to her husband and children, Paula was the glue that kept everyone together, in good times and bad times. She was a role model and teacher to her family. Her legacy is the standard of life that we, who are left behind, are striving to live up to. She is preceded in death by her mother, Guadalupe M. Fonseca. Survivors include her devoted, beloved husband of 50 years, Edmundo Olvera; father, Guadalupe G. Fonseca of Monterrey, Mexico; daughters, Ann Ramos and husband Randy, Martha Olvera and husband Gerardo, Maria Rodriguez and husband Robert; sons, Mark Olvera and wife Renee, John A. Olvera and wife Lola, Lupe Olvera and wife Jo Ann, and John E. Olvera and wife Ana; brothers, Lupe, Lelo, Tino, Juan, Isais and Kiko Fonseca; sisters, Josefina and Leonila, all of Mexico; 21 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Thank you for being there for us, for everything you did, for forgiving and over-looking our ways, for your hand, for the shoulder we cried on, for your tears, for everything in this world that is beautiful, only because you were the one to show them to us.
