Pawnee Rossow, 88, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Providence Village, St. Catherine’s, in Waco, Texas.
A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, April 29, 2024, at Rosemound Cemetery, in Waco, Texas. There will also be a visitation from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Sunday, April 28, 2024, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home.
Pawnee was born Thursday, July 25, 1935, in Fort Worth, Texas, to John W. McRay and Lottie McRay, Pawnee then spent her childhood years in Waco, Texas, after her family relocated there.
On April 15, 1957, Pawnee married her first husband, Charles E. Harper. Later, following her retirement in 1980, Pawnee returned to Waco. After her return to Waco, she met and married her second husband, Merle Rossow, Sr., June 26, 1999.
Pawnee dedicated herself to nurturing her family as a devoted homemaker most of her adult years, raising her daughter Lavonia and son Victor. She was also dedicated to her faith, as a longtime member of Lake Shore Dr. Church of Christ.
Pawnee will be remembered fondly by those who knew her, as a loving wife, devoted mother, and cherished friend.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, John W. McRay and Lottie McRay; her husbands, Chuck Harper, and Merle Rossow, Sr.; and her six brothers, and two sisters.
Pawnee is survived by her children, Lavonia T. DePasquale, and Victor Harper; her sister, Lou Warren; and her three grandsons and fifteen great-grandchildren.
