Pearl Baker Lawler August 17, 1920 May 25, 2013 Pearl Baker Lawler, 92, of Waco, passed away Saturday, May 25, 2013, at Regent Care Center. A graveside service will be 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 28, at Oakwood Cemetery with the Reverend Dr. Kenneth Moerbe officiating. Visitation will be Monday, May 27, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. Pearl was born August 17, 1920, in Waco, to Mabel and Sidney Guy Ricketts. She graduated from Waco High School. She and her husband, Jesse P. Baker, Jr., shared 42 years of marriage until his death in February of 1989. She began her career at Hillcrest Baptist Hospital serving as secretary to the Director of Nursing and later as secretary to the McLennan County Medical Society. Pearl retired from Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. She met Woodrow Woody Lawler and they were married for five years until his death Pearl was a past member of the Hamilton House. She enjoyed playing bridge and 42, traveling, and being with her family. She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Jesse P. Baker, Jr., and her second husband, Woodrow Woody Lawler; brother, Johnnie Guy Tom Ricketts; sister, Nell Wilson; and granddaughter, Jannah Terry. Survivors include her daughters, Vicki and husband, Randy Terry, of Florence, Alabama, Carol and husband, John Linda, of Waco; grandsons, Jerry Wayne Smith, Bradley Linda and Matt Linda; niece, Connie Horn, of Lacey, Washington; nephews, Johnnie Ricketts, Jr., of Grandview, Texas, Jeff Ricketts of Cleburne, Texas and James Ricketts of Rockwall, Texas. Pallbearers are Johnnie Ricketts, Jr., Jeff Ricketts, James Ricketts, Stan Horn, Bradley Linda and Matt Linda. Honorary pallbearers are Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey staff. Her family wishes to thank long-time caregiver, Darlene Jones, and the wonderful team at Bluebonnet Hospice for their loving care and support.
