Peggy Garrigues Cook

October 4, 1933 — April 18, 2022

Peggy Ann Garrigues Cook passed away Monday, April 18, 2022. Peggy was born October 4, 1933, to Samuel Godden Garrigues and Ethel Marie Garrigues of Louisville, Mississippi. She married her devoted husband, Vance Oliver Cook, in 1955, spending her entire life as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Peggy enjoyed tennis, horses, and singing. She was extremely proud and very involved in the lives of her three grandsons and took immense pleasure in all their activities. It was rare for the Cooks to miss a game. Peggy and Vance were devoted parents to a very special daughter Becky, who gifted the family with unconditional love and unbridled joy until her untimely death in 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Godden and Ethel Marie Garrigues; husband, Retired Lt. Colonel Vance Oliver Cook; sister, Rose Marie Rost; and beloved daughter, Rebecca Marie Cook. She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Colwick and son-in-law Craig Colwick; and grandsons, Jack McCarter IV (Chip), Andrew Patrick McCarter and Benjamin Isaac McCarter. During the long journey home, Peggy was aided by many special angels. Special thanks to Gwen Bennet, Nurse Kathy, Laura and Tish (all of Providence Hospice). The road was long and the friends made along the way became family. Memorials may be made to Special Olympics or Wounded Warriors. The family invites you to leave a message or memory on our "Tribute Wall" at www.WHBfamily.com.
