Phyllis Marion Devere

Phyllis Marion DeVere October 5, 1928 - September 23, 2013 Phyllis Marion DeVere of Waco passed away Monday, September 23, 2013 after a short illness. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 28, at Oakwood Cemetery with the Deacon Greg George officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, September 27, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. Phyllis was born October 5, 1928, in Fairfax, Alabama to Eugene and Mary Burdette. She worked at Fabbre Jewelry and at The Party Shop at the former Lake Air Mall for many years. She also volunteered with Providence Auxiliary. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother for both her sons. Phyllis was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Waco. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George McDonald DeVere; and her sister, June Pannell. She is survived by her sons, Robert DeVere and wife, Carolyn, of Severna Park, Maryland and Richard DeVere and wife, Marilyn of Staples, Texas; grandchildren, Marcus DeVere and wife, Ellen, of Minneapolis, Minnosota, Allison DeVere of Pasadena, Maryland and Carrie Jo DeVere of Staples, Texas.
