Price J. Perrill Price Joseph Perrill, CLU, 82, of Waco, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 16, 2001, at his home. Visitation will be from 6-8pm on Tuesday Sept. 18th at Wilkerson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home at 6101 Bosque Blvd. Services will be held at 3:30pm Wed. Sept. 19th at WHB funeral home, with Rev. Ron Durham officiating assisted by Dr. Dan White. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Mr. Perrill was born on July 7, 1919 in Greenforest, AK to Ralph and Juanita Perrill. He graduated from Girard High School in Girard, KS in 1937, then graduated from Fort Scott Junior College in Ft. Scott, KS in 1939. He then proceeded to graduate with honors in business administration from the University of Arkansas in 1941. Mr. Perrill entered the armed services in Sept of 1941 and attended officer candidate school in 1942. He was stationed at Waco Army Air Base from Dec of 1942 until Oct of 1944. He was then stationed in China as a member of the 76th Fighter Squadron, 23rd Flight Group of the Flying Tigers, and the 14th Air Force during 1945. He was discharged as a Captain in 1946 then was recalled in to active duty during the Korean War and was stationed at San Marcos, TX as the adjunct of the Training Group for 18 months. He then met Wanda Louise Shepard, the love of his life, while stationed at Waco Army Base, then married on September 4, 1943. They have lived in Waco as their permanent home since their marriage. Mr.Perrill entered the life insurance business in 1948 as an agent and was active as such until retirement on July of 1984. For 20 years prior to retirement, Mr. Perrill was an agent for the Texas Life Insurance Company of Waco, and was always one of their leading agents. Mr. Perrill received numerous honors throughout his career. He was President of Waco Assoc. of Life Underwriters in 1956 and 1957, President of General Agents and Managers of Waco, President of CLU, Waco Chapter, President of the Texas Association of Life Underwriters in 1973 and 1974, Member of the Million Dollar Round Table for 30 years and was the first agent to qualify in the city of Waco, President of Texas Life Insurance Company’s All Star Convention, Member of the President’s Round Table nine times prior to retirement in 1984, and he received his CLU Chartered Life Underwriters in 1959. He was a member of Columbus Avenue Baptist Church. Price Perrill is survived by his wife of 58 years, Wanda, two daughters, Joanne Dula and Janette Davis, two son-in-laws, Norman Dula, Jr. and Ronnie Davis, four grandchildren, Amy Haynes, Michael Dula, Kyle Davis, and Kristy Davis, as well as loving brothers and sisters including Robert Perrill and wife Evelyn, RC Perrill and wife Zoe, Mattie Mae Taylor and husband Bob, Laura Hunter and husband John as well as many other loving friends. Special thanks to the loving caregivers who assisted during the final days of life. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the American Diabetes Association and the American Heart Association.
