Ralph E. Smith, Jr.

SMITH, JR, RALPH E. Ralph E. Smith, Jr., age 76, of Waco passed away Monday, February 24, 2003 at his residence. Memorial services will be held at 2pm Friday, February 28 at Columbus Ave. Baptist Church with Rev. Dan White officiating. Arrangements are through Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Mr. Smith was born on July 22, 1926 to Ralph E. Smith, Sr. and wife, Mildred in Winchester, New Hampshire, but was raised in Massachusetts. He came to Texas by way of the United States Army during WWII, when he was stationed at Camp Hood. He married Patsy Ruth Taylor of Waco, on July 19, 1947. They enjoyed 55 wonderful years of marriage. Ralph was an accountant with Word, Inc. for over 20 years. He was a deacon at Columbus Avenue Baptist Church, where he participated in the music program. He was also active for many years in the local Boy Scouts of America. He recently served for two years as the president of the Waco Stroke Club. He is survived by his wife, Pat Smith, son and daughter-in-law, David and Janet Smith of Waco, daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Mark Hall of Chandler, sister, Pauline Smith of Hudson, Massachusetts, and grandchildren, Justin Smith, Jordan Hall, Andrew Hall and Adam Hall.
