Ralph T. Nicosia, 93, of Waco died Thursday, March 3, 2005 at a hospital in Corpus Christi. A rosary will be recited at 7:00pm Sunday, Mar. 6 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel. Services will be held at 1:30pm Monday, Mar. 7 at St. Louis Catholic Church, with Monsignor Mark Deering officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. He was born November 18, 1911 in Waco to Anthony and Carmela Montanio Nicosia. He married Reva Cornelia Rodgers on June 8, 1937. They lived at the family lake house on Lake Waco during the early part of their marriage. Among his greatest joys were having his family, extended family, and friends enjoy weekend get-togethers which always included fishing and good food. He was an avid fisherman and was always ready for a fishing trip and/or fishing stories. He could fix anything with shoe goop and silver tape. He worked with his father in the shoe repair business until 1954 and owned and operated the family grocery store until 1973. He was a faithful member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Waco. He was preceded in death by his wife. He is survived by daughter, Marie Nicosia of Clermont, Florida; sons, Anthony Joseph Nicosia and wife, Cathy, of Bruceville, Ralph Timothy Nicosia and wife Jody, of Wimberley, Michael Eugene Nicosia and wife Angel, of Corpus Christi, and John Christopher Nicosia of Lorena; eleven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren; brother, Louis P. Nicosia of Waco; best family friends, Johnny and Martha Bigham of China Spring; and best fishing buddy, Jack Gambrell, of Waco. He was a caring and loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.
