Ramona Diamond Freeman

January 13, 1937 — June 19, 2003

RAMONA FREEMAN Ramona Diamond Freeman, 66, of Waco, went to be with the Lord June 19, 2003. Services will be held 1:30PM Saturday June 21 at Wilkirson Hatch Bailey Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd. with Dr. Paul Stripling officiating. Burial will be at Waco Memorial North. A visitation for family and friends will be 6pm until 8pm Friday at the funeral home. Ramona was born January 13, 1937, in Waco, TX, to Worna and Pallie Diamond. As one of the Diamond Twins, she and her twin sister Winona, began their singing careers as children and by age 14, were regular guest on local radio programs and entertained at the Big D Jamboree in Dallas, As well as numerous productions on local television during the 1950’s. Ramona was a 1954 graduate of Waco High School and a graduate of Four C Business College. Her business career as executive secretary included numerous positions in various companies throughout her travels during her life. She retired from American Amicable Life Insurance Company in Waco, 1999. Ramona is a member of the National Magna Carta Dames Society, Gideon Auxiliary in the Northwest Waco Camp and a member of Bosqueville Baptist Church. As part of her service to the Gideon’s, she performed musical programs for several nursing homes in the area. She is survived by her husband Bruce Freeman; stepson Michael Freeman and his wife Leslie and three step grandsons, Keegan, Jake and Troy all of Midwest City, Oklahoma; Twin sister Winona Vowell and her husband Wesley; brother Gene Diamond and his wife Gay of Garland, TX; Nieces Cindy Williams of Ft Worth, Susan Richter of Waco, Nephews Lance Vowell of Waco, Keith Richter of Waco and Adam Smith of Ft Worth and numerous cousins. Pallbearers; Danny Rowell, Walter McCaleb, Bill Van Cleave, Glen Chaneyworth, Ralph Sparks and David Parker. Honorary Pallbearers: Kenneth Gradel, Tom Pelt and Vic Brown Memorials may be given to the Bosqueville Baptist Church, 7465 Rock Creek Rd. 76708 or Gideon Memorial Bible Fund, P.O.
