Randall Craig Colwick

Randall “Craig” Colwick passed away July 15, 2023. He was at home, surrounded by family and enveloped with love. A celebration of life will be scheduled soon.

Craig was born in Cranfills Gap, a small village that always held his heart. After moving to Waco, he became a standout basketball player at Richfield High School and he graduated from Richfield High, Class of 1970. He furthered his education at Texas A&M, where he initially joined the Corps of Cadets, but was swiftly whisked up to play basketball. After graduation, and upon becoming a certified CPA, he joined Management Service for Doctors. Craig developed deep friendships with many of his clients through the years. His calm, and thoughtful guidance helped many clients through years of personal and business dealings.

A master of many crafts, Craig never took on an endeavor without thoughtful and meticulous research. He was a CPA, pilot, TASO Umpire, photographer, cyclist, chef, and enjoyed history, travelling, jeeping in Colorado with family, scuba diving, horsepower (cars), and above all, he was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. Craig loved to celebrate with his Richfield Class of 1969 classmates, and the lasting friendships he maintained, were a testament to his genuine spirit. Although he excelled in all his endeavors, he found the greatest fulfillment in being a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was a quiet man. A wise man. He left an enormous impression on all who knew him.

Craig is preceded in death by his parents, Guinivere (Voiles) and Oscar Colwick; and his brother, Steve Colwick.

Craig is survived by his wife, Debbie Colwick; his sister, Linda Chandler and her husband David; daughter, Laura Mooneyham and husband Rob; son, Michael Colwick and wife Michelle; and his grandchildren, Tessa Mooneyham, Ally Mooneyham, Lilly Mooneyham, Hunter Colwick, Kate Colwick, Mady Colwick; as well as three stepsons, Chip McCarter, Patrick McCarter and Ben McCarter; also, grandson in residence for many years, Jack McCarter V, who truly was like a son to him; as well as several dear nieces, nephews and cousins.

A mighty proud Fighting Texas Aggie has fallen, Craig's wisdom and presence enriched the lives of everyone he touched. At his celebration of life, we will honor a man who stood tall and spoke with gentle wisdom, we are forever grateful, and better, to have known him.
