Ray Lacy Zeigler, MD September 1, 1931 - March 5, 2014 Ray Lacy Zeigler of Waco passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2014. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 7, at Oakwood Cemetery with Tom Catchings officiating. Ray was born September 1, 1931, in McLean, Texas, to Raymond and Lucille Lacy Zeigler. He was a graduate of Shamrock High School and Abilene Christian College, now ACU. He received his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. He served four years in the Public Health Service, including two years on the Pima Indian Reservation in Arizona. After entering private practice, Ray served as a general practitioner in Shamrock, Texas, and then for over 30 years as a radiologist in Waco. In 1980 he was appointed chief of staff at Providence Hospital and later served as president of the McLennan County Medical Society. Ray married Liz Wilson on August 4, 1954. He was a member of the Crestview Church of Christ Church in Waco, serving as an elder for over 20 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Liz; as well as his grandson, Nathan Clardy. He is survived by his children, Sara Clardy and her husband, Mark; Daniel Zeigler and his wife, Carol; Jane Sanders and her husband, Bill; and Pam Deputy and her husband, Rob; grandchildren, Ryan, Jessica, Erin, Rachel, Joshua, Lacy, Riley, Abby, and David Ray; and eight great-grandchildren.
