April 18, 1909 — October 12, 2001

WRIGHT, RAY Ray Wright, age 92, of Waco died Friday, October 12, 2001 at a local nursing home. Services will be 1:30PM Monday, October 15th at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd. with Chaplain Curtis Holland officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be 12:00 Noon-1:00PM Monday at the funeral home. Mr. Wright was born April 18, 1909 in Hico, TX to Bertie Lee and Carrel Phillips Wright. He served in the U.S. Navy Seabees as a Chief Motor Machinist’s Mate in the South Pacific Theatre during WWII. He retired from Central Freight Lines after 20 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers: Stormy, Speck, Mush, and Tip Wright. Survivors include his wife, Marie Wright of Waco, stepsons, Jack McNair and wife, Barbara of Austin, Joe McNair and wife, Kathy of Bryan, and Bill McNair, 10 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, sisters, Mattie Sis Vana of Waco and Cora Allen of Amarillo, sisters-in-law, Essie Wright of Irving and Clara Wright of Wichita Falls, brothers, M.N. Bud Wright and wife, Betty of Waco, Currie Wright and wife, Dottie of Onalaska, and Ernest Boots Wright of Normangee, numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Joe Bradley McNair, Ricky McNair, Rocky McNair, Randy McNair, Jack McNair, and Joe McNair. Memorials may be made to Herring Ave. United Methodist Church or Veterans of Foreign Wars, 406 W. 34th St., Kansas City, Mo 64111. WILKIRSON-HATCH-BAILEY
