Raye Cherie Brown, 75, of Woodway, died peacefully in her sleep Monday, March 7, 2022 at Westview Manor in McGregor. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, March 11, at Gholson Cemetery. Cherie was born one of three children June 5, 1946 in Cumberland, Maryland to John W. and Roberta L. Spangler Bolyard. She obtained her Graphic Arts Degree at TSTI in the early 80's, became a Graphic Artist and enjoyed a lifetime of creating Art. She was a member of Mensa, worked for the United States Postal Service, obtained a degree in Nursing at MCC and worked as a Nurse at Westview Manor as a Wound Care Specialist. She had a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis, enjoyed her many retirement years as Raye Cherie Brown with her late husband, Arthur Brown who died in 2020. They married in 1986, her second marriage with no children from that union. Cherie is survived by her son, Gary J. Long (from her first marriage to Gary H. Long, who died in 2013) and his wife, Ruth A. Long; sister, Roberta Bess; brother, John; and one granddaughter, Morgan. Cherie and Arthur will now lay side by side in eternal rest.
