WATKINS, RAYFORD Rayford Watkins, age 72 of Woodway died Tuesday, March 27, 2001 in a local hospital. Services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, March 29, 2001 at Waco Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Jeff Smith officiating. Visitation with the family will be 7:00-9:00 PM Wednesday, March 28, 2001 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Mr. Watkins was born January 1, 1929 in Oklahoma City, OK to Hamp S. and Lena Bailey Watkins. He married Patsy Carolan in Marlin, TX June 12, 1948. He worked for General Tire for 37 years. One of his passions in life was county music, traveling to Nashville for many years to attend country music fanfare. Six brothers and three sisters precede him in death. Survivors include: Two sons: Ronnie Lee Watkins and his wife, Maryan of Woodway Ray Watkins and his wife, Caroline of Flower Mound Two sisters; Frances White of Washington on the Brazos Laverda Peters of Houston Two brothers: Donald Watkins, James Watkins both of Farmersville Four grandchildren: Jason, Susanne, Bradley, and Holly Watkins A great grandchild: Chansey Watkins Honorary pallbearers are Ed Carolan, Joe Carolan, Jason Watkins, Bradley Watkins, Russell White, Jim Todd, Charlie Barrett, and David Smith.
