MEADOR, RAYMOND L. Raymond Lee Meador, Lt. Col., USAF Ret, 82, of Waco died on Wednesday, October 16, 2002, at a Fort Worth Alzheimer's Center. Services will be held at 11:30am Saturday, October 19 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, 1124 Washington Ave. with Rev. Jimmie Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Rosenthal Cemetery. The family will receive family and friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, October 18 at the chapel of the funeral home. Raymond was born in Rineyville, Kentucky on October 2, 1920, to Irvin and Lena Bewley Meador. He graduated from Howevalley High School and Western Kentucky State College and The University of Nebraska at Omaha. He completed a combat tour of duty in the South Pacific during World War II as first pilot of a B-24 Bomber crew. He held various Air Force positions until his retirement in 1966. Raymond worked at the WIN office of the Texas Employment Commission for ten years, retiring in 1980. He kept busy after his retirement by raising cattle on his farm in Chalk Bluff. Raymond was married for 45 years to the late Pauline Kellough Meador, who preceded him in death in 1990. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Lucille Slack, Gladys Scifers and Mayetta Masters. Survivors include daughter, Paula Ray Brehm and husband, John, of Burleson, Texas; granddaughter, Julia Curnes, and husband, Phillip, of Lenexa, Kansas; grandson, Dr. John Brehm, and wife, Tanya, of Chicago, Illinois; great-grandchildren, Andrea and Samuel Curnes of Lenexa, Kansas and brothers, William Meador and Harry Meador of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
