Reba C. Cooper November 11, 1926 - September 1, 2014 Reba C. Cooper of Waco passed away Monday, September 1, 2014. Her services will be 1:30 p.m., Thursday, September 4, at Waco Memorial Mausoleum Chapel with the Rev. Stephen Ramsdell officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 3, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. Reba was born November 11, 1926, in Hillsboro, Texas, to Ruby and Elsie Ford. She graduated from Waco High School in 1944 and attended 4-C Business College, prior to Civil Service employment at Blackland Air Base in Waco. Later she was employed by the Veterans Administration in Waco and Red River Arsenal in Texarkana, Texas. While living in Orange, Texas, in the 1950s, Reba was employed as the church secretary and pastor's secretary at First Baptist Church. She was employed by Baylor University for 28 years and by the Ronald McDonald Houses of San Antonio, prior to moving back to Waco in 2008. She married her beloved husband, Albert Joray Cooper in 1985. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, where she was a Stephen Minister, president of the Odell Dudley Sunday School Class, served as a Meals On Wheels volunteer and as a visitor to health care facility patients. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert J. Cooper; parents; and two sisters, Patty Stewart Biederman and Ruby Hale. She is survived by her son, Robert E. Morris of Waco; daughter, Melissa Anne Morris Odell and husband, John, of Lone Tree, Colorado; grandchildren, Ashley and Nicole Morris, and John William and James Patrick Odell; one sister, Elsie Kline and husband, Bill, of San Antonio; nephews, Jack Stewart and Tim Stewart of Waco, Dr. Mark Kline of Houston, and Dr. Gary Kline of Americus, Georgia; two nieces, Patricia Bivin of San Antonio and Carol Bland of Tennessee; step-son, Joe Cooper and wife, Margaret, of Waco, and their children and grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers are Odell Dudley Sunday School Class. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church Meals on Wheels or Ronald McDonald House Charities, San Antonio, Texas.
