BROWN, REBEL Rebel E. Reb Brown, 86 of Waco died Wednesday, June 30, 2004 at a local hospital. Services will be at 1:30pm Friday, July 2 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with the Rev. Howard Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Valley Mills Cemetery. There will be a reception at Valley Mills Church of Christ afterwards. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 pm Thursday, July 1 at the funeral home. Mr. Brown was born February 19, 1918 in Gatesville to Dr. Rebel John Brown and Tommie Lee Biggs. He graduated Gatesville High School. He served in the 5th Army during WWII from 1942-45. He worked for Lone Star Gas Co. 47 years. He married Ovella Burns October 10, 1953. He was a 50 year member of Waco Masonic Lodge #92. He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, and three brothers. Survivors include wife, Ovella Brown of Waco; son, Mike Brown of Bedford; grandchild, Heather Brown of College Station; sister, Frances Wood and husband, Gene of Corsicana; numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Morgan, Harold McCain, Douglas Newberry, Jake Bonds, Bill Graves, and Calvin Darby. Honorary pallbearers are retirees of Lone Star Gas Co. Memorials may be made to Cogdell United Methodist Church Building Fund or American Lung Association.
