Rev. Herbert B. Gideon

GIDEON, REV. HERBERT B. Rev. Herbert B. Gideon, age 87, of Waco passed away Sunday, August 26, 2001 at a Waco hospital. Services will be 10:00AM Wednesday, August 29th at Meadowbrook Baptist Church with Dr. Randall O’Brian and Dr. Eric Holleyman officiating. A graveside service will be at 4:00PM Wednesday at Pecan Grove Cemetery in McKinney, TX with Bud Massey and family officiating. Visitation with the family will be 6:00-8:00PM Tuesday, August 28th at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Brother Gideon graduated from Howard Payne in 1939 and attended Southwest Seminary in Ft. Worth in 1950-52. He and his wife, Lema served their Lord for 54 years as pastor to several Baptist churches throughout Texas. After retirement they also went on many mission trips in South Texas. Brother Gideon also retired from Rockwell International as an inspector and also had many friends and acquaintances there. His parents, six brothers, two sisters and Lema, his wife of 54 years preceded him in death. Survivors include: Daughter and son-in-law: Rita and Bud Massey of Rosenthal One sister Three brothers Grandchildren: Tami Almond, Melody and Mike Herring of Robinson, Cyndi and Jason Franz of Katy Jeff and Wendy Massey of Hewitt Eight great grandchildren who loved their “Dee-Dee” very much: Zach, Bethany, Aaron and Andrew Almond Jacob and Jamicyn Franz Katy Ann and Abygale Herring For those desiring, the family has suggested Truett Seminary at Baylor University for memorial contributions.
