Rev. Marion Ford

May 29, 1919 — February 18, 2005

FORD, REV. MARION Rev. Marion Ford, 85 formerly of Waco, went to be with the Lord Friday, February 18, 2005. Services will be held at 10am Wednesday, February 23 at Western Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Brian W. Dunks and the Rev. Darryle Dunks officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial North. Visitation with the family will be from 5-8pm Tuesday, February 22 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel. Rev. Ford was born May 29, 1919 in Marshall, Texas to Henry and Sadie Ford. Marion was a veteran of WWII, serving two years overseas in the 83rd Infantry Division. While serving his country, he was wounded during the Battle of the Bulge and received an honorable discharge from the Army of the United States. In 1950, God called him into the ministry. He attended East Texas Baptist College in Marshall, Texas; Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, and Stephen F. Austin State College in Nacogdoches, Texas. He then served the Lord as pastor and interim pastor of numerous churches in the Central Texas area for 50 years. Marion also was active in the Masonic Lodge and Shriners. Marion will be missed by many friends and family, but rejoice knowing that he is with Jesus and we will see him again in Heaven at our homecoming. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 48 years, Margie Hines Ford, a son, Roger Dale Ford, a sister and three brothers. Survivors include his wife, Lou Ann Ford, to whom he was married on November 2, 1991; his children, Delphia Adcock and husband, Jimmy, Brenda Dunks and husband, Darryle, Jonathan Ford and wife, Deborah, Ben Van Patten and wife, Susan, Gyla Wise and husband, Stan, Tamara Heineman and husband, George, and Brenda Flora and husband, Jerry; sisters, Maurice Chatham and Gwen Campbell and husband, Marshall; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
