Reva Williams Perkins December 18, 1920 - February 5, 2011 Reva Williams Perkins, 90, passed away Saturday, February 5, 2011, in Plano, Texas. Services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, February 9, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Reva was born December 18, 1920, in Coryell County, Tex., to Alvis and Gertrude Williams. She graduated from Waco High School, where she was a cheerleader and member of the choir. She was an active member of First Methodist Church and eventually became a member of St. Alban's Episcopal Church. Reva moved to Houston in 1953 where she lived until the last nine years of her life. She was an active member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Houston and headed up their high school group's teachers there for three years. She was an executive secretary to H.J. Porter, an independent oil man, and Gil Tausch, head of engineering for Camco Inc. In her last years, she was a homemaker and housewife to Dr. Glynn Perkins. She is survived by her daughters, Mia Perkins Parker and Lynne Maxwell Lilley, as well as grandchildren born to her deceased daughter, Cobby Lawton McKinney; and her younger brother, Froggy Williams and his wife, Robbie, of Houston. Reva's grandchildren were eight in number, and she lived to see the birth of eight great grandchildren. While she was capable of assisting H.J. Porter in the organization of the Texas delegation to the Republican convention in San Francisco in 1956, she is certainly best remembered for her biscuits and gravy by family and friends alike.
