Richard Leonard Harralson June 7, 1953 - August 15, 2014 Rick Harralson, after a long and valiant battle with cancer and a full life of love, family, work and service to others, relaxed into the arms of Jesus on Friday, August 15, 2014, at the age of 61. The celebration of his homegoing will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 18, at the Highland Baptist Church Chapel. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, August 17, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Since his birth on June 7, 1953, Rick was known to quietly spread the love of Jesus to everyone he came in contact with. Rick loved to worshipand fellowship with the family of God that meets at Highland, at Antioch, and at Christ the King in Waco by television these past months. He was a longtime volunteer for Waco Partners in Education, and loved nothing more than being on the soccer field coaching and reffing with his kids. Assuming there is a kid's soccer field by a beach where fishing is available, that's where we will know to find him in Heaven. He wanted to be sure to express his love and appreciation to the many wonderful caregivers and physical therapists at Baylor Scott and White Hospital, Home Health and Hospice, and the Visiting Angels. In his last heartfelt act of service, he asked that his body be donated for educational use by UT Southwestern Medical School before returning home at a future date for a family interment service at Oakwood in Waco. Rick is survived by his parents, James and Doris Harralson and his wife of 36 years, Jody, of Waco, he and Jody's children, Johanna Harralson Engelsgjerd, Eric Engelsgjerd, and Ethan Harralson of Frisco and Anneka Harralson of Waco. He is also survived by sister, Lessia Davis and husband, Brad, of McGregor, brother Keith Harralson and wife, Alisa Harralson of Oklahoma City. He will also be greatly missed by beloved nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many great friends and associates from his 28 years at Time Warner Cable, 6 years at KCEN-TV and Harralson-Whitehead Media Services. Rick has asked that, in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to one of the following organizations: Gideon's Waco Camp, No Limitations Soccer for special needs Central United Methodist Church, Mission Waco or Antioch Community Church Neighborhood Outreach Fund. The family invites you to leave a message or memory in our "Memorial Guestbook" at www.WHBfamily.com. Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey
