SCAMAN, RICHARD Richard “Buddy” M. Scaman, II, 55 of Mart, had a glorious homecoming when he met his Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 13, 2005. Services will be held at 2pm Thursday, February 17 at First Baptist Church of Mart with the Rev. Tim Watson officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Prairie Hill Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 5-8pm Wednesday, February 16 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Richard was born July 15, 1949 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee to Richard and Emma Scaman. He graduated from Terrell High School and joined the United States Army and was assigned to 101stAirborn Division. On December 31, 1983 Richard married his best friend and sweetheart Jane. Richard always said he wanted to get married on a day where everyone would celebrate with them. Buddy, as his grandkids call him cherished every moment he spent with them. Whether it was watching TV or sitting and just talking, they all loved Buddy. He was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter Micaela Lewis. Richard is survived by his wife and sweetheart Jane; daughters Laura Scaman, Jamie Nevills and husband Troy, Jr. all of Mart, and LaDonna Lewis and husband, Brad of Arlington; grandchildren Austin and Hunter Nevills and Madyson and Emma Lewis; sisters Cindy Cole and husband Pat and Ida Elliott, stepmother, Lou Scaman all of Alford, England; and nephews George, James and Steven. Pallbearers will be Brad Lewis, Troy Nevills, Jr., Odell Nevills, Justin Lee, Jimmie Hollemon and Brad Potts. Honorary pallbearers are Austin and Hunter Nevills and Lonnie Burch.
