Richard Wayne Murphy

MURPHY, RICHARD Richard Wayne Murphy, age 70, of Waco died Friday, August 24, 2001 at a local hospital. Services will be 1:30 PM Saturday, August 25th at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd. with Rev. Michael O. Patterson officiating. Burial will follow at Meridian Cemetery. Mr. Murphy was born March 25, 1931 in Waxahachie to Cecil and Bernice Duvall Murphy. He was a Waco resident for over 60 years. He attended Brook Ave. Elementary and West Jr. High Schools. He was a 1950 graduate of Waco High School and attended Baylor University after his U.S. Army Service during the Korean War. Wayne worked for Curry Office Supply Co. and McLennan County Community College for several years before joining the Audiovisual Department of Waco Independent School District. He retired from WISD in 1992. He was member of Western Heights Baptist Church. A daughter, Alana Susanne, preceded him in death.
