Ripple Maurene McGregor June 30, 1924 - July 21, 2008 Ripple Maurene McGregor of Jackson, Mississippi departed this life to begin her eternal life with her Lord Monday, July 21, 2008 at Providence Hospital in Waco, Texas. Service in celebration of her life will begin at 11:30 a.m. Friday, July 25 at First Baptist Church in Byram, Mississippi with Rev. Doran Henry officiating, assisted by Rev. James Buie and Rev. Carl Prewitt. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday, July 24, at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home at 350 High Street in Jackson, Mississippi. Ripple was born June 30, 1924 in Itawamba County, Mississippi to Curtis and Maude Moxley. She married T.M. McGregor on March 10, 1945 and they were happily married for 50 years. She was a cosmotologist who was owner and operator of Forest Hill Beauty Salon in Jackson, Mississippi for over 30 years. Ripple was a member of the First Baptist Church in Byram, where she was active in her Sunday School, member of the choir, served as youth group chaperones and a founder of the puppet ministry. Prior to that, Ripple and T.M. "Mac" opened up their home as the initial gathering place for what is now Raymond Road Baptist Church. They were also members of Woodville Heights Baptist Church. During her life, she worked as a civil servant in the assembly of B-29 bombers during World War II. Ripple was also owner of Forest Hill Nursing Home, a personal care facility operated out of their home on Forest Hill Road. One of her hobbies was the raising and breeding of Tennessee Walkers and she was an accomplished rider, both Western and English style. Ripple was also an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and all her children's and grandchildren's school activities as possible. Most of all, she wants to be remembered as one who loved her Lord, her family, and her church, whose life modeled Proverbs 31 as a virtuous woman. She was preceded in death by her mother, Maude Moxley; father, Curtis Moxley; husband, Theron M. McGregor; sons, Billy McGregor, T.M. McGregor, Jr., sisters, Ruby Kennedy, Ruth Collier and Polly King. She is survived by sons, Johnny McGregor and wife, Linda of Raymond, Mississippi; Bobby McGregor and wife, Barbara of Memphis, Tennessee; daughters, Cassie Eldridge and husband, Paul of Jackson, Mississippi; and Melesia Henry and husband, Doran of Waco, Texas; grandchildren, Phillip McGregor; Michelle Shaul and husband, Ray; Andy McGregor and wife, Julie; Ashley Gilliam and husband, Todd; Zachary McGregor; David Glaze and wife, Christina; Sarah Beth Glaze, Chris Eldridge and wife, Elizabeth; Angela Richburg and husband, Jeff; and Kristen Nichole Henry; great-grandchildren, Matthew, Emily and Joshua Shaul; A.J., Madison and Anthony McGregor; Zachary, Kelsey and Dalton Gilliam; Vaiden Capestany and Billy Golden; Jeffery, Aaron, and Ripken Richburg; and Allanna Nichols. Pallbearers are Ray Shaul, Phillip McGregor, Andy McGregor, Chris Eldridge, David Glaze and Matthew Shaul. Honorary pallbearers are Todd Gilliam, Jeff Richburg, Zachary McGregor, Zachary Gilliam and Joshua Shaul. Greeters will be Sarah Beth Glaze, Emily Shaul, Kristen Nichole Henry and Madison McGregor.
