Rita Joyce Passmore Webb of Waco passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at Cornerstone Hospital in Austin. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 2, at Oakwood Cemetery in Waco with Minister Johnny Stephens officiating. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 1, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home in Waco. Rita was born November 18, 1933 in Waco, Texas, to Alvah Ephram “Buddy” and Hallie Mae Spurlock Garrett. Along with her husband, J.R. “Robert” Passmore, she built a successful homebuilding business with a reputation for creating the circumstances allowing scores of people to become homeowners. In her early years, she enjoyed raising her three sons, and she and J.R. were heavily involved in the Bellmead Lions Club. In later years, she began oil painting, gardening, and enjoying the light of her life, her first and only grandchild, Kristi. Rita was a beloved and steadfast friend and will be dearly missed by those left to cherish and celebrate her memory. Rita was preceded in death by her parents; husband, J.R.; and infant son, David Wayne. She is survived by her most recent spouse, Marion “Bubba” Webb; sons, Robert and wife, Diane, of Waco, Danny of Kyle, and Randy and wife, Cindy, of Lorena; granddaughter, Kristi of Austin; great-grandchildren, Elliott and Audrey of Austin; sisters, Catherine Barnard and husband, Calvin, of Rowlett and Freddie Busch of Golinda; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Alan Webb, Bill Bates, Jeff Barnard, Jim Lawson, Monty Cross and Tracy Waite. Memorials may be made to the Bellmead Lions Club.
