Robert C. Ammon passed into eternity at Providence Hospice Place on Thursday, September 28, 2017, with his wife’s arms around him. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 3, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home with Pastor Daniel Erickson officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at Oakwood Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. A visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, October 2, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Bob was born on February 28, 1924, in West Reading, Pennsylvania, where he grew up. He married Ann in Waco, Texas, in 1953 when he was stationed at James Connally AFB. His interests quickly became his family, flying, and golf. His three sons followed him into the game of golf and all became pilots. He was a member of the Covenant Church in Carrollton, Texas. Bob was preceded in death by his father, mother and brother. He is survived by Ann, his wife of 64 years and 7 months; his precious sons, Steve, Bob, and Jeff; daughters-in-law who became his daughters; grandchildren whom he loved and enjoyed and who became his friends; and great grandchildren who were the icing on his cake. Pallbearers will be Bob’s sons, Steve, Bob, and Jeffrey, and his grandsons, Mike Ammon, Ryan Ammon, and Andrew Ammon. Memorials to him may be made in your hearts as you remember him and then do something for someone as Bob would have done. The family invites you to leave a message or memory on our “Tribute Wall” at www.WHBfamily.com.
