Robert Donald Barron March 13, 1928 March 27, 2008 Robert Donald Barron, 80, of Lorena, Texas, fell asleep in the arms of Jesus on Thursday, March 27th, 2008. Bob was born the 13th of March 1928, in Itasca, Texas, to Ruel and Lillie Barron. He received his Bachelor's Degree from Howard Payne University, and his Master's Degree from Sam Houston State University. He was a proud sailor in the United States Navy. He was also a 32nd degree Mason. Bob moved to Waco in 1968 accepting the position of Chief Juvenile Probation Officer of McLennan County and later became Chief of both Adult and Juvenile Probation Departments until his retirement. He was active in his church, active in the community and active on his "farm" in Robinson until health issues forced him to cut back. He was always there to help anyone in any capacity in which he was able to the day of his passing. After God, family was the most important thing in his life, grandchildren being his favorite subject. Bob is survived by his wife Marian "Tiddles" celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary on the 6th of March 2008. His three children: daughter Deborah and husband Steve Edwards, son David Barron, daughter Becky and husband Michael Raney; six grandchildren Brandon and his wife, Pam Paige and Hunter Edwards; Dylan Barron; Ryan and Sean Raney; and one great grandchild, Sydney Taylor Raney. A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church in Lorena, Texas, 307 East Center Street, Lorena, Texas on Monday, March 31st, 2008, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the American Heart Association or charity of your choice. 1Thessalonians 4:13-18.
