Robert Dwain Burks passed away Thursday, February 10, 2022. Services will be 3:00 pm, Tuesday, February 15, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home with Jim Dickson and Chad Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 pm-7:00 pm, Monday, February 14, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. Robert was born January 7, 1941, in Waco, Texas, to R.V. and Ruby Edith Burks. Robert was educated at Midway High School and Baylor University. He worked in the oil field for 45 years and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army for six years. He was a devoted husband and father a loving grandfather, a wonderful coach and teacher. He was also a always supportive and willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He enjoyed he loved the great outdoors, investing time with family and friends, traveling to all 50 states, hunting and fishing, and car racing. He always had a smile on his face and loved to entertain family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Johnnie Burks He is survived by his two sons, J.W. Burks, and Ron Humphrey; two grandchildren, Dakota and Montana Burks; and many wonderful cousins and friends. Memorials may be made to Shiloh Baptist Church in Crawford, Texas.
