Robert O. Cathey of Waco passed away Monday, April 18, 2016 at his residence. His graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 22, at Oakwood Cemetery with Dr. Steven Mansen officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 21, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. Bob was born July 14, 1942 in Waco, Texas, to Tox and Catherine Cathey. He graduated from Baylor University in 1965 with a bachelor’s degree majoring in Commercial Art. Bob served in the U.S. Air Force and was a Vietnam Veteran. He worked for Waco Tribune Herald, J.M. Dyer Co., Cox’s Department Store as the advertising manager and then with the Waco Citizen Newspaper. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his brother, Toxey William Cathey, of Waco; his cousins, John Cathey, Jack Odell, Jimmy Odell, Janet Zsohar and Anne Ray. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
