Roberta Carter Colgin May 30, 1920 - October 5, 2010 Roberta Carter Colgin of Waco died October 5, 2010. Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m., Friday, October 8, at Oakwood Cemetery with the Reverend Dr. Jimmie Johnson and Reverend Greg Knippa officiating. Mrs. Colgin was born on May 30, 1920, in Dallas, Texas, where she was reared and educated. She was the daughter of the late Owen Carter and Roberta Griffiths Carter. On March 31, 1944, she married Dr. James Holloway Colgin in Dallas. Following the end of World War II, they moved to Waco where her husband practiced internal medicine for over 40 years. Mrs. Colgin was a member of the Junior League of Waco, McLennan County Medical Alliance, and First Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Dr. James H. Colgin. She is survived by a daughter, Carol Colgin of Waco; two sons, James Carter Colgin of Waco, and Dr. Murray Merchant Colgin and wife, Cathy, of Kerrville; and a sister, Mrs. Charles Purnell of Dallas. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Waco Memorial Fund or to your favorite charity.
