Rodney Ray Irby

Rodney Ray Irby passed away Saturday, February 26, 2022. Services will be 10:00 am, Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home with Rodger Rucker officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Comanche, Texas. Rodney was born September 3, 1933, in Gorman, Texas, to Cyril and Nora Erlean Irby. Rodney was educated at De Leon High School, Howard Payne College, Baylor University, and Southwestern Seminary. He pastored churches in Caddo Mills, Northside Baptist in Colorado Springs, and Pantano Baptist Church in Tucson. He served as a missionary through the International Missionary Board for 23 years in Vina del Mar and Santiago, Chile, South America. He enjoyed football, baseball, basketball and working in his yard. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by wife, Virginia Irby; daughter, Elizabeth Irby; son, Dudley Ray Irby; and sister, Nelda Johnson, and husband, Bill, of Midland.
