Ronald E. Anderson died on September 4, 2021, of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Services will be held in the Mausoleum and graveside at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 3, 2022, at Garden of Memories Cemetery, 3669 Logan Ave. Waterloo, IA 50703. Anderson was born October 17, 1945, of Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of Kenneth and Florence Anderson. He and his brother Donald Anderson were raised in Marshalltown. For his professional career, Ron started as a chemical engineering intern at Texaco, then began working full time at Texaco in Lockport, Illinois upon graduating. Ron retired with Texaco after 30 years of holding numerous positions, including assistant plant manager in Port Arthur, Texas, and plant manager in Convent, Louisiana. Ron married Keitha Mae Kerr on August 25, 1967. They were able to celebrate their 50th anniversary in the summer of 2017, along with many family members and friends who gathered in Marshalltown, Iowa. Ron loved Keitha, and was a caring husband, treating her as royalty and making sure she was provided for and taken care of. Ron served as President of United Way, appointed to Louisiana Boards and Commissions by the governor. He also rescued greyhounds and was an avid golfer. He enjoyed people, gardening, irises, ice cream, model trains, and learning new things. Ron enjoyed 20 years of retirement doing the things he loved - traveling, visiting his kids and granddaughter, and golfing. He began golfing weekly with four neighbors, and eventually had over 30 neighborhood golfing buddies. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Florence Anderson, of Marshalltown, Iowa. He is survived by his wife, Keitha; daughter, Kendra Anderson-Davis (Scott); and son, Jason Anderson (Jerry); brother, Donald Anderson; nephews, Scott Anderson, Chris Payne, Corbin Payne, Bryce Nielsen, Brandon Gann, Ryan Gann, John Campbell, Alex Conrad, Braydon Conrad; nieces, Nikki Anderson, Debbie Jaggar, Susan Mears, Hillary Anniss, Kelly Allsup, and Aubrey Slayton.
