Ronald Hoppy Hobson September 25, 1931 March 28, 2008 Ronald Hobson of Plantersville passed away Friday, March 28, 2008 at Grimes St. Joseph Health Center. Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6:00 8:00 p.m. Monday, March 31, 2008 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Ronald was born September 25, 1931 in Independence, Kansas to Vernon and Evelyn Hobson. He joined the Air Force after graduation and was stationed at Connally AFB in Waco in 1952. That's where he met his wife, Joyce Battle and married her January 24, 1953. They had 6 children, 5 boys and 1 girl. He worked in retail most of his life, until he retired. He enjoyed his children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, David Hobson and a grandson, Michael Hobson and 2 granddaughters, Kaitlyn and Christin Hobson. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Joyce Battle Hobson, 4 sons, Leonard Hobson and wife Katrine, Vernon Hobson, Douglas Hobson and wife Jeanie, Raymond Hobson and wife, Vicky; 1 daughter, Helen Kirsch; 9 grandchildren, Alan Hobson and wife, Shannon, Jeremy Hobson and wife, Amanda, Rolan Hobson and wife Chasity, Andrea Oreilly and husband, Mathew, Christopher Kirsch and wife, Kari, Dwayne Kirsch and wife Erika, Troy Smith, Ryan Hobson and Taryn Hobson; and 11 great grandchildren.
