RONALD JEFFREY GRIFFIN In the twinkling of an eye, Jeff Griffin went home to be with our Lord the afternoon of Thursday, Sept. 11, 2003. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 14 at the China Spring Tabernacle, off of old China Spring Highway directly behind First Baptist Church of China Spring, with Pastor Mark Griffin officiating. Burial will be Monday, Sept. 15 at the Waxahachie City Cemetery at 11 a.m. Jeff was born September 12, 1965 in Dallas, Texas. He was a respected member of the Law Enforcement Educators, U.S.A., Tactical Firearms Instructors Training Academy. Jeff was involved in training everyone from the Boy Scouts to our nation’s Peace Officers, Security Specialists/Bodyguards, Military, EMS and Firefighters. Perhaps Jeff was best known and admired for beating the odds and overcoming a serious head trauma at a young age. He proudly graduated from China Spring High School in 1984 and Hill College in 1986. Jeff was a calming factor in a world of hast and strife. His child-like faith in the Lord was a true blessing to all who knew and loved him. Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Griffin; grandparents, Frank and Robbie Westbrook, Sam and Era Griffin, and James and Grace Edwards; and cousin, Donald Westbrook. Survivors include his mother and “Pop,” Glenda and Giles Edwards of China Spring; sister and brother-in-law, Julie and Buddy Miller of Nashville; loving fiancée Darlene Cornett of Waco; brothers Doug Edwards and family of Cleburne and Scott Edwards and family of Waco; his angel girl Emily Renee Bond; Uncles Bobby Westbrook and family of Waxahachie, Nolan Westbrook and family of Waxahachie, and Bobby Griffin and family of Cat Springs; Aunt Myrtes Gaines of Stephenville; several nieces, a nephew, cousins, and countless other dear friends and loved ones and his faithful cat Max. Pallbearers will be Troy Edison, Richard Cowan, David Hall, Mark Huffhines, Mike Shaffer, Tommy Frazier, Chuck Carlisle and Butch Wagner. The family requests that memorials be made to the Ridin’ High Cowboy Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 565, China Spring, TX 76633.
