Rosa J. Ash

September 11, 1945 — August 26, 2022

Rosa Ash, 76, of Waco, passed away peacefully at home Friday, August 26, 2022. Rosa, the oldest of seven children, was born September 11, 1945, in Waco, to Manzor and Juanita Morales. Rosa attended Baylor University where she earned her degree in education and spent many years in the education field as well as a small business owner and avid community volunteer. Rosa was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Ann Tubbs. She is survived by her daughter, Julie Beasley and husband, Robin, of Hallsburg; Jeff Wood of West; and Misty Ash of Corpus Christi; grandchildren, Christopher Marek, Sheril Niemann, Ashton Wood, Kylie Kuhn, and Kingston Kuhn; and great-granddaughter, Parker Marek. Hard work and remarkable generosity are the hallmarks of Rosa’s life. For 20-plus years she volunteered her time and talent of cooking and event planning to the benefit of many civic organizations. Rosa’s love for cooking brought her family together with large holiday gatherings or just a Sunday tea party with her sisters. Her love for Disney and what some might describe as an ability to add the “magic touch” to an event might even include an impromptu character appearance. Rosa was truly one of a kind and she made an impact on so many lives over the years whether it was directly or behind the scenes. A service will be held 11:00 am, Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home, with Kelli Barron officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park.
