February 7, 1923 — February 8, 2002

ROSALIE DEVORSKY Rosalie Scarmardo Miller Devorsky, 79, of Waco, passed away Friday, February 8, 2002 at a local hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00am, Tuesday, February 12 at St. Louis Catholic Church with the Rev. David Liebham officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. A scripture service will be held 6:00pm Monday, February 11 at WILKIRSON-HATCH-BAILEY, 1124 Washington with Bill Scarmardo officiating. A visitation will follow. Rosalie was born February 7, 1923 in Waco, to Luke & Mary Scarmardo. She grew up in the back of Scarmardo Fine Foods once located at 2526 Reuter, which her parents owned and operated for 55 plus years. She was a Waco High graduate in 1940. She attended Texas Women’s University Business School for 2 years. After William Miller her first husband died in 1974 , Rosalie fell in love & married Bob Devorsky on November 1, 1975. She worked 28 plus years for McLennan County as Deputy County Clerk. Rosalie & Bob belonged to several local dance clubs. They enjoyed traveling together both nationally & internationally. She loved her family & many friends. One of Rosalie’s favorite pastimes was shopping; especially for their home furnishings. She was a gifted cook, decorator & hostess when entertaining in their home. Her last day on earth was spent celebrating her 79th birthday with her family, shopping with her daughter Patty & then dancing her final dance in the arms of her devoted husband Bob. Survivors: husband, Bob Devorsky of Waco; 4 daughters, Patricia Miller Godfrey & husband Martin of Canyon Lake, Debbie Powell & husband Gary of Houston, Donna Searcy & husband Ronnie of League City, Diane Balderrama & husband Steve of Waco; 3 sons, William R. Miller, Jr. of Waco, Bobby Devorsky & wife Cathy of Waco, Mark Devorsky & wife Kim of Hewitt; 14 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; brother, Luke Scarmardo & wife Tommie of Dripping Springs; 2 nephews; 3 great nieces; & 1 great nephew. Pallbearers: Steve Balderrama, Bobby Devorsky, Mark Devorsky, Bryan Godfrey, Stephen Godfrey & Trey Miller. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, American Diabetes Foundation or Reicher Catholic High School. WILKIRSON-HATCH-BAILEY
