Rose Bettge November 25, 1911 - August 16, 2007 Rose Clara Bettge, 95, of Waco died Thursday, August 16, 2007 at St. Catherine's Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 18, at St. Louis Catholic Church with the Rev. David Leibham officiating. Burial following at Oakwood Cemetery. On Saturday morning at St. Louis, just prior to the service, visitation will be at 9:00 a.m. and Rosary will be recited at 9:45 a.m. Rose was born November 25, 1911 in Leroy, TX to William and Clara Schroeder. During her lifetime she worked at various jobs in the retail business, and her last job was with Clifton-Simpson. Upon retirement, she volunteered with the Ladies of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul, and also St. Veronica’s Circle at St. Louis Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene George Bettge; and seven brothers and sisters. She is survived by daughter, Clara Jean Matustik and husband, Harry of Waco; four grandchildren, Jackie Schlatter and husband, Mike of San Antonio; Rebecca Ann Brown and husband, Spencer. Jr. of Waco; Kathleen Huggins and husband, Gray of Garland; and Mike Matustik and wife, Debbie of Austin. She is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be great grandchildren, Nicholas Huggins, Scott Stem, Kyle Huggins, Chris Schlatter, Alex Huggins and Jennifer Schlatter. Camilla, Elise and Spencer Brown will be acolytes.
