Rose Flores Rodriguez

Rose Flores Rodriguez, 76, of Waco, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 8, 2005. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, March 12 at St. Francis Catholic Church with Rev. Sergio Lopez officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm, Friday, March 12 at Funeraria Brazos with visitation from 6-9pm. Rose Flores was one of the precious children born to Joe, Sr. and Sara Quinones Flores. She was born August 29, 1928 in Asa. She attended elementary school in Downsville and graduated from Waco High School in 1946. Rose was united in holy matrimony with Willie Rodriguez Sr., October 12, 1946 in Littlefield, Texas. She was a homemaker and loved the outdoors and loved to work with her flowers and yard along with her husband until her health failed. At an early age, her mother passed away and as the oldest child, she had to rear her brothers and sister. Although we have lost her, she will never leave our hearts and minds. Rose was an active participant in a number of civil and social organizations in Riesel including Riesel Lions Club, Meals on Wheels and also in Waco. She was a member of Santa Cruz Cemetery Association and Waco Public Schools Alumni Association until her health began to fail. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Rodriguez, Sr. on May 21, 2003 and also her mother and father, Joe and Sara Quinones Flores, Sr., and a brother, R.H. Flores. Rose leaves to cherish her memory, sons, Rudy Rodriguez, Willie Rodriguez, Jr., Frankie Rodriguez and Randolph “Mice” Rodriguez, all of Waco; daughters-in-law, Catherine Rodriguez, Pat Rodriguez and Christen Rodriguez, all of Waco; grandsons, Larry Shores and wife Janice, Ricky Lee Dunlap, Adam Rodriguez, Andrew Rodriguez and Randolph Rodriguez, all of Waco; granddaughters, Anna Almanza of Austin, Melissa Rodriguez and Amanda Rodriguez, both of Waco; great grandson, Cobey Shores of Waco; brothers, Joe Q. Flores, Jr., Emmit Flores Sr., Jesse “Jay” Flores, Sr., Edward “Lalo” Flores, Sr., Marshall Flores, Domingo “Mingo” Flores, Sr., all of Waco and Frankie Flores Sr., of Pontiac, Michigan; sister, Lois Flores Moreno of Waco; sister-in-laws, Rita Flores, Lucille Flores, Terry Flores, all of Waco; aunt, Tomasa Contreras of Waco and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be her devoted loving nephews, Emmit Flores, Jr., Edward Flores, Jr., Jesse “Jay” Flores, Jr., Joe W. Flores, Ricky Flores, Austin Flores, Stevie Flores, Randy Flores, Artie Flores and Richard Lopez. Honorary pallbearers are her loving, devoted brothers.
