SCOTT, ROSEMARY Rosemary Scott, 84 of Waco, passed away Monday, February 14, 2005 at a local nursing home. Services will be at 1pm Thursday, February 17 at Waco Memorial Mausoleum Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial North. Visitation with the family will be from 5-7pm Wednesday, February 16 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Rose was born December 30, 1920 to Alonzo and Nellie Highbaugh in Alexandria, Indiana. She met the love of her life, Paul Scott, at church. His mother was her Sunday School teacher. They married on October 14, 1937 and shared 67 devoted years together before his death on February 23, 2004. They moved to Waco in 1945. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Prior to her retirement she worked at Montgomery Wards and Gulf States Paper Co. In 1962, she started doing volunteer work at Providence Hospital. She was elected President of Volunteer Services in 1963 and then Sister Austin made her Director in 1964. She was Director until 1974 when she had to resign because of Paul’s health. After retirement they moved to Lake Whitney, returning to Waco in 1986. As long as Paul’s health permitted they enjoyed many years RVing, traveling all over the world. They especially enjoyed attending Elder Hostel Programs. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Waco. Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, son Larry, two brothers and great grandson Chantz Bell. Survivors include daughter Sondra Kay Bell and husband Buddy of Hewitt; son Robert Scott and wife Dixie of Robinson; daughter-in-law Emogene Scott of Orlando, Florida; grandchildren Pam Prater and husband Dale of Riesel, Tim Bell and wife Tona of Hewitt, Ken Bell and wife Tammy of Lorena, Paula Schnettler and husband David of San Antonio, Michelle Scott and Rachel Scott of Robinson; eight great grandchildren; sister Pat Smith; brother Bud Highbaugh; sister-in-law Naomi Highbaugh all of Anderson, Indiana; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to say a special thanks and appreciation to Dr. Gary Barbin, Dr. Robert Anderson, Karen Rutledge and Providence Home Care, Misty and Providence Hospice, Ridgecrest Retirement Center and Staff, whom all lovingly cared for her and to special friends Evelyn Brock and Jenell Kaminsky.
