Roy C. Hill

HILL, ROY C. Roy C. Hill, age 94, of Bay City, formerly of Waco, died Tuesday, March 12, 2002 in Bay City. Services will be held at 9:30AM Saturday, March 16 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd. with Rev. Ben Disney officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be 6:00-8:00PM Friday, March 15 at the funeral home. Mr. Hill was born March 27, 1907 in Sterling City, Texas to the late Charles David and Myrtie Mae Alsup Hill. He was a 1924 graduate of Kopperl High School. He was also a graduate of North Texas State University with a Bachelor Degree in 1949. He received his Masters, Educational Administrators Certificate from Baylor University in 1953. He taught at Midway High School for over 30 years spending most of those as an administrator. He married Florence Mae Miears in Clifton, Texas on May 14, 1938; she preceded him in death June 21, 1992. He had served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII. He was a former member of Trinity United Methodist Church, now Central United Methodist Church. Survivors include his son, Roy Douglas Hill and wife, Mazie Dean of Bay City; grandchildren, Kelli Wendel and husband, David and Keith Hill and wife, Amy; great grandchildren, Kirk, Kayla, and Kevin Wendel and numerous nieces and nephews.
