Roy E. Youngberg March 20, 1917 - October 13, 2007 Roy E.Youngberg of Eddy passed away Saturday, October 13, 2007, at the Temple VA Hospital. Military graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 17, at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, TX. Roy was born March 20, 1917 in Chicago, IL. He started out farming in Wisconsin and moved, with three little girls, to Dallas, TX, when times got hard for farming in 1960. Roy learned to work as a machinist and equipment operator and worked for TI for 20 years. He had lots of tools and loved to do woodworking. He could build anything with his hands; built furniture for Marge and barns for the horses; and also enjoyed gardening. The family always had tomatoes and sometimes beans, corn and different herbs for cooking. He was always a farmer at heart. Roy was good at everything he tried – the best was “he was our love”. He was a loving, kind, gentle and sweet husband, father and grandfather. He retired to the country on a small farm and ranch in the 1980’s, where Marge still keeps a few horses. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jack Youngberg. He is survived by dear wife, Marjorie of Eddy; daughters, Cheryl A. Sullivan and husband, Mark of Houston; Sandra L. Johnson and husband, Rick of Rhome; and Linda Harris of Waco. Also surviving is his grandson, Jesse Johnson; sister, Margaret Coombs of Auburn, Maine; numerous nieces and nephews.
