BROWN, ROY LEE COTTON Roy Lee Cotton Brown, age 88, of Waco died Sunday, February 10, 2002 at a local hospital. Services will be 1:30PM Wednesday, February 13 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd. with Chaplain Curtis Holland officiating. Burial with Masonic rites by Waco Masonic Funeral Committee will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be 6:00-8:00PM Tuesday, February 12 at the funeral home. Mr. Brown was born November 13, 1913 in Waco. He was reared and educated and lived most of his life in Waco. He married Ruby Garner August 8, 1936. He worked for Nickols Air Conditioning and at the Waco V.A. Hospital until his retirement in 1983. He was a Baptist and a member of Waco Masonic Lodge #92. He was also a member of Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Local #529 in Waco. Mr. Brown enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Dixie Brown, his sister, Ola Mae Willis and his brother, Charles Brown and a great granddaughter, Kerrie Chisholm. He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather and will be deeply missed by all. A special thanks to Hillcrest Hospice especially Charles Walker, Annette Davidson and Alicia Abernathy for their outstanding care during his illness. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Ruby Brown; daughter, Dorothy Chisholm and husband, Don all of Waco; grandchildren, James Chisholm of Stephensville, Montana; Donna Kelley of Trinidad, Texas; Robert Chisholm of Sulphur, Oklahoma; Judy Rayvon of Nashville, Tennessee and Scott Smith of Dallas, Georgia, nine grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Roy Garner, Ed Wilson, Rick Wilson, Ed Wilson, Jr., Robert Chisholm and Tyson Chandler. Memorials may be made to Hillcrest Community Hospice or favorite charity.
