Roy Lee Nash, 90, passed away December 4, 2016. Services will be held at a later date in Wichita, Kansas. Roy was born to Oscar and Eula Nash on Father’s Day, June 20, 1926, in Blackwell, Oklahoma. He grew up and graduated from high school in Wellington, Kansas, and served in the Navy in WWII. Roy went on to graduate from Kansas State University and was in the lumber industry most of his life. He married Mary Steiner in 1954, and they had two children, Clayton and Susan. He was a member of the International Concatenated Order of Hoo Hoo and the Masonic Lodge. Although Roy only lived in the Waco area for a short time, he made many new friends. His positive outlook, zest for life, and heartwarming smile were contagious to all. He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings; and his wife. He is survived by his son, Clayton Nash and wife, Kathryn; his daughter, Susan Nash Spooner and husband, Steve; grandchildren, Mitchell and Mikaela Spooner; niece, Nancy Kojzarek and her family; brother-in-law, Sam Steiner and his family; and his three loyal cats.
