Roy S Humphrey April 21, 1924 – February 17, 2006 Roy S. Humphrey passed away Friday, February 17, 2006 at a local nursing home. Services will be at 10:00 am, Monday, February 20 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Bosque Chapel with the Rev. Billy Edwards officiating. Chapel service will be at 3:00 pm Wednesday, February 22 at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home in Bogalusa, La. with burial to follow at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, Poplarville, MS. Visitation with the family will be from 3 - 5 pm, Sunday, February 19 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Roy was born April 21, 1924 in Poplarville, MS to James R Humphrey and Ada Humphrey, the next to last of 14 children. He graduated from Mississippi College and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He was pastor of Vieux Carre’ Baptist Church in New Orleans for 18 years. He retired after serving for 44 years as a Baptist minister. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Virginia; son, Michael Humphrey and wife, Bridget of Woodway; granddaughters, Lori and Melissa Humphrey.
