Ruby Belcher

Ruby Belcher, 92, of Waco, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2005 at a local hospital. Services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Monday, May 16, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, with the Rev. Drew Wilson and the Rev. David Story officiating. Burial will follow at Rosemound Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, May 15 at the funeral home. She was born December 8, 1912 in Elk, Texas to Duke and Cora Dill McDonald. She attended schools in Downsville. She married Charlie W. Belcher on September 28, 1931 in Corpus Christi. She was a member of Park Lake Baptist Church. She worked with the Cradle Roll at Tabernacle Baptist Church from 1937-1972. She was a homemaker; loved her family and worked side-by-side with her husband. She also baby-sat for many Waco families. She loved to travel, take pictures, and keep up with world affairs. One of her favorite things to do was to watch TBN. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, six brothers, and two sisters. She is survived by her son, Roy Belcher and his wife, Martha Ann of Waco; daughter, Doris Pade of North Bend, Washington; grandchildren, Robert William Pade and Gerald Scott Pade; brother, Duke Perry McDonald, Jr. and wife, Dorothy of Moffett. Pallbearers will be Lawrence Jackson, John Slade, Bill Sawyer, Wendell Crunk, H. B. “Bubba” Lane, and Rodney Paul McDonald. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gideon Living Memorial Bible Plan, P. O. Box 5037, Waco, Texas, 76708.
