Ruby Cunningham June 15, 1924 - November 29, 2013 Ruby Cunningham of Waco passed away Friday, November 29, 2013, at a local retirement center. Services will be 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, December 3, at First Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m,. Monday, December 2, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. Ruby was born June 15, 1924, in Gatesville, Texas, to Henry and Elizabeth Jacobs. She graduated from Gatesville High School in 1941 and attended business school in Dallas. She retired after 44 years of service at Sears Roebuck and Company, and she was a lifetime member of First Lutheran Church in Waco. She was a very devoted mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Melvin Jacobs; and one sister, Edna Truitt. She is survived by two daughters, Karen Allen and husband, William, of Lorena, Texas, and Donna Zimmerman and husband, Bobby, of Hewitt; six grandchildren, Elizabeth Lorenz, Kimberly Peebles, Christopher Allen, Celena, Cory and Stephanie Zimmerman; twelve great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces. The family would like to express their appreciation to Ridgecrest Retirement Center, Dr. James Graham and Providence Hospice for their loving care. Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church.
