Ruby Jean Joyce February 12, 1920 - March 15, 2007 Ruby Jean Joyce, age 87, of Waco passed away Thursday, March 15, 2007. Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, March 16 at Oakwood Cemetery. Ruby was born February 12, 1920 to Lillian and Ethan Bunn in Ft. Worth, Texas. The family moved to Marlin where she gradated from Marlin High School. She married Benjamin Cargill Joyce and they moved to Waco in 1945. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Donald Bunn in 1964; and her husband in 1972. She is survived by their three children: Bobby and Suzanne Joyce of Jacksonville, Judy and Joe Willoughby of Dallas, Peggy and Jim Shaw of Austin; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, Jeff and Lori Joyce, Kailey and Lane of Dallas; Brad and Beth Joyce, Blake and Elizabeth of Garland; Kathryn Weekley of Waco; and Andrea Shaw of Austin; two sisters, Peggy Lawless of Marlin and Patsy and Red Williams of Delanco, New Jersey; three nephews and two nieces; and Beverly Hannon, her best friend and next door neighbor since 1945. She was passionate about sports. She followed football, basketball and baseball with equal enthusiasm. For the past three years, she has been cared for by two loving caregivers and sisters, Sherry Rose who preceded her in death and Terry McDowell. Together these “3 girls” have loved, laughed, watched their favorite TV shows and followed all sporting events often cheering for opposite teams! The family is grateful for their loving care.
