Ruby Scherff Pick

Ruby Pick passed away at her residence surrounded by family. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 26th at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Pastor Larry Krueger officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday, Aug. 25th at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. Ruby was born in Riesel, Texas. She was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church in Riesel in 1921 and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in 1937 by Rev. E. A. Heckmann. On October 12, 1940 she married Adolph Pick, Jr. Ruby and Adolph were charter members of St. Paul Lutheran in Bellmead. She was very active in the work of the church. They raised their 7 children in the Lutheran faith. We consider our Mom a phenomenal professional tailor. Her expertise and skill in alterations of men’s wear led to her being well-known among the business professionals of Waco. At the age of 85, she was asked to open the alterations department of Jos A. Bank Men’s Wear of Waco. Ruby was preceded in death by her husband; sister, Grace Johnson, and her parents. She is survived by her children; Kathy Fehler, and husband, Tommy; Glenn Pick and wife, Pam; Mike Pick; Gwen Harris and husband, Mike; Debbie Dollins and husband, Curtis; Lana Stricklin and husband, Craig and Paul Pick and wife, Leslie; 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Curtis Dollins, Nolan Pick, Brayden Pick, Randy Fehler, Joey and Jamey Harris In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bellmead.
